Can you imagine what it would be like to live in a community where all your neighbors don’t have access to medical nor dental care?

I am an undergraduate student at Rutgers University pursuing a major in Genetics and Spanish, and hoping to get into the medical field post-undergrad. I want to commit myself to serving all people in need of medical attention not only here in the United States, but also abroad, in other countries. I will be accompanying a group of doctors and pharmacists who work closely together to provide quality healthcare to Honduran communities that otherwise would have limited to no access to healthcare. Throughout this initiative in Honduras, as a bilingual student, I hope to be able to use my skills to translate and help the medical team. This trip can only become a reality with your help.

Este verano, voy a estar acompañando a un grupo de médicos y farmacéuticos que trabajan en colaboración para proporcionar atención médica de calidad a diferentes comunidades marginadas del mundo que tienen limitado o ningún acceso a doctores y medicina. Me uniré con Rutgers Global Brigades: Honduras 2014 - Medical/Dental Brigade para poder asistir yo mismo. A través de esta iniciativa en Honduras, como un estudiante bilingüe, espero ser capaz de usar mis habilidades para traducir y ayudar al equipo médico de diversas maneras.
