About
Water Brigades at UC Riverside is one of the 6 disciplines of Global Brigades currently on the UCR campus. Global Brigades is the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. The UCR Water Brigades chapter systematically works with more than 300 other university groups around the world to deliver and implement one of nine skill-based programs that benefit more than 130,000 Honduran, Panamanian, and Ghanaian community members annually.
When we're not creating water systems in Honduras, during and after school we try to promote GWB's message in the need for clean, sanitized water world wide. We have weekly meetings each quarter to train for our summer trip and discuss the importance of water in all aspects. We also volunteer in our local community in order to adequately prepare ourselves for the trip. We understand that in order to help communities abroad, it has to start in our own backyard.
