    Volunteers Around the World (VAW) is an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) devoted to improving the standard of living for those that live in some of the most poverty stricken communities of the world. VAW wants to provide communities with access to medical treatment, medication, nutritional security, clean water, and health education.

    Mission
    Our focus is to enhance community infrastructure through improved education, access to more advanced medical treatment, increased economic opportunities, and other community based initiatives.

    The work of Volunteers Around the World is done by volunteers who donate their time, money and energies to the welfare of fellow human beings. It is through the efforts of these selfless individuals and working in conjunction with community members and leaders that the world will become a healthier and better place to live.

VAW Hospital Internship

 Volunteers Around the World (VAW) is an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) devoted to improving the standard of living for those that live in some of the most poverty stricken communities of the world. Our focus is to provide communities with access to medical treatment, medication, nutritional security, clean water, and health education. The VAW Hospital Internship gives students who are serious about a future in medicine the opportunity to work at one of the largest and most important trauma hospitals in the Dominican Republic. Students will interact with patients, take theoretical classes, and shadow physicians and residents.
