Throughout my childhood, it has become clear to me that I have luxuries that other children around the world do not have; from growing up around two happy, healthy siblings to eating nutritious home-cooked meals with my family. But, only recently have I decided that I can no longer be a bystander to the clear struggles of families and children around the world when I have the power to help. These people deserve the basic necessities that I have never had to think twice about. I know I may not be able to eradicate this issue, but what I can tell you is that I truly care about this problem, and, today, I am beginning to do what I can do to solve it. I would like to travel to Honduras to meet and help families, children, and teenagers. We will implement health education, meet with community leaders, conduct survey research, and work alongside the community as an international team to construct four major health projects. I want to involve 14 other volunteers from the community to travel on this trip with me. To do this, I need to raise $1,530 per volunteer by the 2016 summer. Your donation is needed and appreciated in order for me to successfully accomplish this trip. This is the first and only program of its kind that will be headed by a group of motivated and dedicated high school students in the nation. We will need the help of the entire community to be successful.
