  • About Global Brigades USA
    Global Brigades USA is the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. Our mission is to empower volunteers and under-resourced communities to resolve global health and economic disparities and inspire all involved to collaboratively work towards an equal world. Since 2005, more than 30,000 volunteers from 800 university groups have traveled to implement our nine skill-based programs to benefit more than 600,000 community members in Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Ghana.

The UIC chapter systematically works with more than 300 other university groups around the world to deliver and implement one of nine skill-based programs that benefit more than 130,000 Honduran, Panamanian, and Ghanaian community members annually. Public Health Brigades is a program within Global Brigades. Public Health Brigades empowers rural Honduran communities to prevent common illnesses through in-home infrastructural development, community leader training, and health education.

The Oakland chapter systematically works with more than 300 other university groups around the world to deliver and implement one of nine skill-based programs that benefit more than 130,000 Honduran and Panamanian community members annually. Public Health Brigades is a program within Global Brigades. The Public Health Brigade begins with an introduction to the challenges that face local communities. The following days the volunteers travel to one of Global Brigades\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' partner communities to implement health education, meet with community leaders, conduct survey research, and work alongside the community as an international team to construct four health projects.
