    Global Brigades USA is the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. Our mission is to empower volunteers and under-resourced communities to resolve global health and economic disparities and inspire all involved to collaboratively work towards an equal world. Since 2005, more than 30,000 volunteers from 800 university groups have traveled to implement our nine skill-based programs to benefit more than 600,000 community members in Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Ghana.

Medical/Dental Brigades at Smith College

Medical/Dental Brigades at Smith College is a chapter of Global Brigades, the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. The Smith College chapter systematically works with more than 300 other university groups around the world to deliver and implement a medical/dental program that benefits more than 130,000 Honduran and Panamanian community members annually. The mission of Global Medical Brigades is to work with licensed medical professionals and community health workers to provide comprehensive health services in rural communities in Honduras, Nicaragua, Ghana and Panama with limited access to healthcare. Each community receives a brigade every 3 to 4 months where hundreds of patients are treated and volunteers deliver public health workshops. Electronic patient records are also collected for future visitations and to monitor overall community health trends. At Smith College, we hope to empower young volunteers to resolve global health and economic disparities in under-resourced communities and inspire all involved to collaboratively work towards an equal world.
