This Open 7 day Medical and Dental brigade offers volunteers the unique opportunity to experience global health alongside licensed healthcare professionals. Volunteers will learn the challanges of health care in rural communities in Honduras and the solutions community members have developed with Global Brigades to improve access and quality of health care.

Program Highlights
• Gain experience from licensed doctors, dentists and pharmacists by observing consultations and assisting
in the pharmacy
• Collaborate with other students from around the world interested in global health, while be provided structure from experienced Global Brigades coordinators.
• Work alongside rural families to understand the challenges and opportunities the communities face.
• On the ground logistics including lodging, meals, materials, coordinators and translators.

About Medical Brigades
Medical Brigades provides students the opportunity to work with licensed medical professionals and community health workers to provide comprehensive health services in rural communities with limited access to healthcare. Volunteers have the opportunity to shadow licensed doctors in medical consultations and assist in a pharmacy under the direction of licensed pharmacists.

About Dental Brigades
Dental Brigade volunteers have the opportunity to shadow licensed dentists in urgent and preventive dental services in communities with limited access to healthcare. Dental Brigades also focuses on prevention with dental hygiene workshops. Between brigades, the in-country team maintains relationships with the communities to provide follow-up to brigades and to empower local leaders.
