    Global Brigades USA is the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. Our mission is to empower volunteers and under-resourced communities to resolve global health and economic disparities and inspire all involved to collaboratively work towards an equal world. Since 2005, more than 30,000 volunteers from 800 university groups have traveled to implement our nine skill-based programs to benefit more than 600,000 community members in Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Ghana.

Public Health Brigades at San Francisco State University

Public Health Brigades is a discipline of Global Brigades, the world\\\'s largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. The SFSU chapter systematically works with more than 300 other university groups around the world to deliver and implement one of nine skill-based programs that benefit more than 130,000 Honduran and Panamanian community members annually. The Public Health Brigade begins with an introduction to the challenges that face local communities. The following days the volunteers travel to one of Global Brigades\\\' partner communities to implement health education, meet with community leaders, conduct survey research, and work alongside the community as an international team to construct four health projects.

Public Health Brigades at San Jose State University

Public Health Brigade volunteers at San Jose State empower under resourced communities in the developing world to decrease life threatening diseases by improving home infrastructure and providing public health education through a 7 day Public Health Brigade in Honduras or Panama. Student volunteers can either join an existing Public Health Brigades chapter on their campus or create their own chapter and recruit other volunteers. Working side-by-side with community members, volunteers improve the overall infrastructure within the home through the construction of five projects: eco-stoves, latrines, water storage units, showers and concrete floors. The five projects were chosen based on observations of medical brigade patient records.
