Global Brigades mission is to give back and help others. As soon as I heard people talk about Philadelphia University's medical brigade chapter, I was interested in joining. Currently, I am a studying in a 5 year b.s./m.s. Physician Assistant program. This year I have decided to join the Global Medical Brigade on a trip to Nicaragua. In the past I have been involved in many volunteer organizations, but this year my focus will be strongly on GMB. I chose to join this year, as a freshman, because it will not only make a difference in my life and education, but in the lives of those we help in Nicaragua. As a member of the GMB trip, I will work on a medical team and provide care to areas that do not regularly receive it. Older members of this group have remarked about how this experience is life changing and I am not only excited, but extremely thankful, to be able to be a part of it.
