Global Brigades Germany ist der Dachverband aller universitären Global Brigades Gruppierungen in Deutschland. Global Brigades ist die weltgrößte, von Studierenden geführte Entwicklungsorganisation und folgt einem ganzheitlichen Ansatz mit sich ergänzenden Projekten in den Bereichen Wasserversorgung, Mikrofinanzen, Gesundheit und öffentliche Hygiene. Global Brigades versteht sich als Netzwerk bestehend aus einheimischen und internationalen MitarbeiterInnen sowie Studierendengruppen. Ziel unserer Arbeit ist es die Lebensqualität der Menschen in den ländlichen Gebieten der Projektländer Honduras, Panama und Ghana langfristig zu verbessern. Public Health Brigades at University of Münster

Public Health Brigades volunteers empower under resourced communities in the developing world to decrease life threatening diseases by providing public health education and improving home infrastructure. Global Brigades works to train community volunteers to promote health and hygiene, while student volunteers work side-by-side with the community to improve the overall infrastructure within the home through the construction of five projects: eco-stoves, latrines, showers, water storage units and concrete floors. Projects are chosen based on medical brigade patient records, along with observations in the community, which confirmed high levels of respiratory, Chagas and other preventable diseases caused by poor in-home infrastructure. Between brigades, the in-country team provides follow-up to ensure the maintenance and work to find funding that will complement community health goals and perpetuate future construction.

Test University 7 is a chapter of Global Medical Brigades, an international movement of students and medical professionals working alongside local communities and staff to implement sustainable health systems. We work in remote, rural, and under resourced communities in Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua and Ghana who would otherwise have limited to no access to health care. Each community receives a brigade every 3 to 4 months where hundreds of patients are provided access to healthcare and volunteers deliver public health workshops. Electronic patient records are collected for future visitations and to monitor overall community health trends. In conjunction with our Medical Program, Global Brigades also supports communities with economic development, sanitation and clean water projects, and uniquely implements these programs in a holistic model to meet a community’s health and economic goals. Our model systematically builds community ownership and collaboratively executes programs with the end goal of sustainably evolving to a relationship of impact monitoring. Test Public Health Brigades Chapter2 Germany

Test University is a chapter of Global Public Health Brigades, an international movement of university students working to improve health conditions in the developing world. Through an evidence-based model, we work alongside local community members to build projects that tangibly improve lives in Honduras, Nicaragua and Ghana. Volunteers work with local masons and families to build eco-stoves, latrines, concrete floors, showers, and/or water storage units. To ensure long-term sustainability and maintenance, the Public Health program team trains and empowers local community leaders in the formation of a Basic Sanitation Committee. The Basic Sanitation Committee is responsible for carrying out in-home assessments and monitoring the status of the projects. In conjunction with our Public Health Program, Global Brigades also supports communities with healthcare, economic development and clean water projects, and uniquely implements these programs in a holistic model to meet a community’s health and economic goals. Our model systematically builds community ownership and collaboratively executes programs with the end goal of sustainably evolving to a relationship of impact monitoring. University of Münster

Wir, eine bunte Mischung aus Studierenden verschiedener Fachrichtungen der Uni Münster, sind "Global Brigades Universität Münster" und gehören dem gemeinnützigen Verein "Global Brigades Germany e.V." an. Dieser wiederum ist der internationalen "Gobal Brigades Association" eingegliedert. Im Februar nächsten Jahres werden wir für eine Water Brigade zehn Tage nach Ghana reisen, um Entwicklungszusammenarbeit direkt vor Ort zu leisten. "Global Brigades" ist die weltweit größte studentische geführte Nichtregierungsorganisation für Entwicklungszusammenarbeit. Seit der Gründung 2004 in den USA haben über 23.000 Studierende mehr als 300.000 Menschen in Ghana, Honduras, Nicaragua und Panama unterstützt. Unser Ziel ist die langfristige Verbesserung der Lebenssituation der Menschen in diesen Ländern durch "Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe". Das Konzept von Global Brigades besteht darin, Entwicklungsarbeit direkt vor Ort in unseren Projektländern zu leisten. Dafür werden wir uns im kommenden Frühjahr auf den Weg nach Ghana machen, um dort Wassertanks für verschiedene Familien zu bauen.
